Designing by Observing
Born in 1996, Davide Apolloni is an architect and designer driven by a profound passion for objects and their making.
He graduated from the Architectural Association (AA) in London, where his architectural studies were always accompanied by an enduring fascination for furniture and product design: a product does not exist in isolation, but in symbiosis with the surrounding architecture.
His interest in architecture has always developed in parallel with a passion for furniture and design as a process. During his master’s research, he observed the manufacturing architecture of the Pianura Padana, immersing himself in the region’s manufacturing culture visiting multiple companies —from wood and metal to glass, marble, plastic and fabric; from workshops to leading Italian brands— he explored the processes that shape contemporary design and the local manufacturing network. These encounters led him to establish close ties with craftsmen and producers, who recognized his potential and offered him the space and tools to experiment. Out of this dialogue, the Lo-Ve Collection was born: a series of high-quality, handcrafted pieces that reinterpret Italian excellence with a contemporary sensibility.
His attitude emerges as a dialogue between tradition and renewal. Craftsmanship and techniques inherited from Italy’s manufacturing culture become the ground for contemporary experimentation. By observing processes, engaging with artisans, and exploring materials hands-on, he transforms heritage into innovation—producing designs that both respect the past and project towards new ways of living.
Apolloni’s work quickly gained recognition. In 2023, he participated at the SaloneSatellite and was selected by La Rinascente Milano Duomo, together with ten other young talents, to showcase his collection on the design floor.
